Survey to strengthen KI's work on equal opportunities for students

Students at Karolinska Institutet are invited to take part in a survey about their experiences of equal opportunities. The results will help develop a more inclusive and fair study environment.
The most recent survey was carried out in 2022 and provided important insights into students’ experiences of discrimination, harassment and the study environment.
The survey is part of KI’s systematic work on equal opportunities, based on the discrimination act. This work aims to promote equal rights and opportunities and to prevent discrimination, harassment and sexual harassment in education.

“This survey is an important part of our work to ensure an inclusive and safe study environment for all students. By listening to students’ experiences, we can better understand where action is needed and work more systematically and effectively on equal opportunities,” says Ewa Ehrenborg, Vice-President for Education at first and second cycle level.

Follow-up of previous results
The analysis from the 2022 survey identified several areas needing further development. These include KI’s work to promote equal opportunities, the ability to combine studies with parenthood, and accessibility in the study environment.
The questions in this year’s survey have been revised to better capture students’ experiences and to follow up on previous results.
An important basis for continued work
The survey results will provide an important basis for KI’s ongoing work to improve the study environment. The goal is for all students to have equal rights and opportunities in their education, regardless of background or circumstances.
