The study is aimed at people with more extensive stress-related problems that clearly affect their ability to function at work, and who have recently sought care for these problems at a primary care center (vårdcentral) in Region Stockholm.

The purpose of the study is to increase knowledge about how different forms of care and treatment affect health and work capacity in the short and long term.
We are currently looking for participants for the study's comparison group.

Who can participate?

You may be eligible for the study if you:
– are between 18 and 60 years old
– have recently sought care for stress-related problems at a primary care center in Region Stockholm
– are on sick leave, or at risk of going on sick leave, due to stress-related mental health problems
– feel that your problems clearly affect your ability to function at work
– live in Stockholm County
– can speak and read Swedish or English

What does participation involve?

To assess whether the study is right for you, you will meet with a clinician for one or two conversations of about 45 minutes each. These conversations can take place at a primary care center or digitally.

As a participant in the comparison group, you will receive the care and treatment that you and your regular care provider decide you need, either at your primary care center or at another healthcare facility. Participation does not limit the care you can seek.

During the study, you will answer digital questionnaires about, among other things, your well-being, your work situation, and any sick leave. The first questionnaire takes approximately 30-45 minutes to complete. Over the following four months, you will receive a short questionnaire (around 5 minutes) every two weeks. The longer questionnaire will then be repeated after six months, one year and two years. As a thank you for your time, you will receive a SEK 100 gift voucher for each longer questionnaire you complete.

By participating, you will help increase knowledge about how healthcare can better support people with stress-related disorders in improving their well-being and regaining their ability to function in working life.
