Participants sought for studies Are you a parent of a child with cerebral palsy and interested in sharing your experiences of barriers and support needs related to participation in leisure activities?
Do you have a child (aged 8–12) with cerebral palsy and would like to tell us what your child or you together would like to do in your free time, the barriers you have faced, and the support that has helped your child — or could help you and your child — participate in activities where you live?

About the study
Children with cerebral palsy have the right to participate in leisure activities, which is fundamental for their health and well-being. Meaningful participation in leisure activities can enhance their quality of life.
In this project (JÄMFRI – Equal Leisure for Children with Cerebral Palsy), we focus on factors that influence children’s access to leisure activities. Together, we will then develop a program that enables and promotes children’s participation in such activities.
Who can participate?
To take part in the study, you need to be a relative of a child who:
- is between 8 and 12 years old
- has a diagnosis of cerebral palsy
- lives in Akalla, Rinkeby, Tensta, Husby, Hässelby gård, Upplands Väsby, Rågsved, Skärholmen, Vårberg, Vårby gård, Flemingsberg or Botkyrka
What does participation involve?
After you express your interest, we will contact you to schedule an individual interview. The interview can take place either at Karolinska Institutet (Huddinge) or at a central location in your area that is easy for you to reach.
During the interview, you will be invited to freely respond to a few open-ended questions about your experiences, thoughts, and feelings regarding your child’s opportunities, support needs, and barriers to participating in leisure activities. The interview lasts approximately 60 minutes and will be audio-recorded for later analysis by the research team.
