Professor Aklillu praised in EDCTP media

In celebration of International Women's Day, Professor Eleni Aklillu was featured on EDCTP's social media and praised for her leadership in the PROFORMA project and for her guidance of female researchers.

On the International Women’s Day this year, EDCTP reaffirmed its commitment to addressing gender disparities in global health research and creating a future that prioritizes women's health, and empowers women to lead in health research. Professor Eleni Aklillu's was commended for her outstanding contributions as a female leader who has mentored numerous female researchers. 

In their LinkedIn post on March 8, EDCTP stated: “We ... celebrate the remarkable contributions of female scientists leading EDCTP2 projects. Professor Eleni Aklillu leads the PROFORMA project, which has generated crucial evidence on the safety and effectiveness of drugs used in mass drug administration in East Africa. Through the project, she has supported the development of many female researchers.”
