Operational plan for 2025 finalised

This year’s operational plan for KI’s Professional Services (PS) and University Library is now ready for viewing. “The joint document is intended to ease communication, enhance transparency and build a mutual understanding of how each unit contributes to KI’s shared goals in Professional Services and other parts of the university,” says University Director Veronika Sundström.
KI’s vision is s to advance knowledge about life and strive towards better health for all. To achieve this, KI needs a professional, coordinated and optimised administration that creates the optimal conditions for education and research of the highest standards.
This year’s operational plan is the result of a joint planning process that has been going on within each office and collective dialogue with the University Library. Since 1 January, PS comprises seven offices, three of which are new. A particular focus for this year is to continue the development of assignments and work methods within and between the offices and with the core operations.
Development of priority focus areas
The operational plan also addresses the work each office is to do regarding KI’s priority focus areas, which often span several functions across the university. Many of the areas are expected to reach completion this year or revert to regular management.

“It’s everyone’s responsibility to work for a culture of acceptance, transparency and responsibility in PS,” says University Director Veronika Sundström. “We create value for our core operations through collaboration and I believe that this year’s operational plan contains many examples of process and method development that help to strengthen the collective spirit at KI.”
This year’s operational plan involves greater coordination between roles within PS and a review of physical spaces and digital work methods. It also contains measures for integrating KI’s new environmental policy into PS’s various operational areas. For example, the IT office will be working with the lifecycle management of computers (Karyon clients) in the Coordinated IT project.
The HR Office will be integrating environment and sustainability into many of its training programmes; and the Property and Facilities Office will be developing its sustainability drive, in part through its contracts with Akademiska hus.
Dialogue-based follow-ups
“The joint document is intended to ease communication, enhance transparency and build a mutual understanding of how each unit contributes to KI’s shared goals in Professional Services and other parts of the university,” says Sundström.
The University Director will be following up the individual operational plans in dialogue with the heads of each office, at times inviting people in from other parts of the university for discussions on certain issues.
