Nominate representatives to the Faculty Board and Faculty Council: Fall 2019
The fall nomination period is now open - all KI employees and students are welcome to nominate representatives to the Faculty Board and Faculty Council between 18 September and 2 October.
Background
During the fall of 2019, the nomination assembly will elect two new teacher representatives to the faculty board to serve until 31 December 2022, and three new representatives to the faculty council to serve from 1 January 2020 until 31 December 2022.
Two of the faculty board's teacher representatives, Maria Ankarcrona and Petter Höglund, will be replaced, in accordance with election rules, due to their new assignments as heads of department.
The term of office for faculty council representatives Gunnar Schulte, Sten Linnarsson, and Camilla Björkegren expires on 31 December 2019 and three new professors will be elected for a three-year period.
Nomination period
The open nomination period is September 18 until October 2 at midnight.
All proposals must be submitted via the KI registrar (see instructions below).
You may suggest a person whom you think is suitable for an assignment as a representative on the faculty board and/or faculty council. For all assignments, the proposed individual must be asked in advance and must have agreed to stand as a candidate for that assignment. You may suggest as many candidates you would like. Individuals are eligable for election if their KI employment runs throughout the entire term of office. Remember that, for all assignments, there should be a good balance between the sexes.
Election process
In 2018, KI's departments appointed 81 members to the nomination assembly. Jan Bolinder, Department of Medicine, Huddinge, and Marie Arsenian-Henriksson, Department of Microbiology, Tumor and Cell Biology, were selected as chair and vice-chair of the nomination assembly.

The official election of representatives to the two bodies takes place within the nomination assembly in a manner decided by the assembly. Its nomination committee prepares the nomination assembly's work by receiving nominations from teachers, other staff and students. After review and preparation of the nominations, the committee presents proposals to the assembly based on the candidates who meet the election criteria specified in the regulations. The nomination assembly elects the number of professors and teacher representatives specified in the university's organisational plan.
