New Integration Director and SFO Committee for SciLifeLab at KI
In January 2026, the President of Karolinska Institutet appointed Lars Holmgren as the new Integration Director for SciLifeLab at KI. In this role, Lars Holmgren will serve as chairman of the SciLifeLab Committee at KI.
Lars Holmgren is Professor of Tumor Biology and former Head of the Department of Oncology-Pathology (2017-2025). He looks forward to his new role: “I am excited to contribute to KI’s continued engagement in SciLifeLab. By coordinating the SciLifeLab Committee at KI and fostering close dialogue with departments, researchers, and partner universities, I aim to strengthen integration and enable excellent research.”
New members from January 2026
The Committee of Research has also appointed several new members to the SciLifeLab Committee at KI.
Caroline Graff, Bennie Lemmens, Laura Baranello, and Erik Benson will join returning members Carsten Daub, Eva Hellström Lindberg and Vicente Pelechano Garcia in steering Karolinska Institutet’s activities related to SFO SciLifeLab.
