NeurotechEU collaboration funding call

NeurotechEU invites educators from its partner universities to co-develop innovative, cross-institutional activities with a strong focus on challenge-based learning. Successful applicants can receive funding of up to €10,000 to support the effective implementation of innovative teaching concepts.

What the call supports  

Content domains

Activities should relate to the following NeurotechEU domains:

  • Theoretical & Systems Neuroscience
  • Neuromorphic & Robotic Systems
  • Neuroinformatics & Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  • Neurotechnology for Health
  • Neurometaphysics

Scope 

  • Challenge-based learning activities that engage with scientific challenges across the five defined content domains
  • Entrepreneurial approaches to strengthen transfer and innovation

Eligible activities

Short intensive learning experiences

  • Blended intensive programmes (N.B double funding within Erasmus+ is not allowed)
  • Digital and hybrid teaching formats
  • Innovation and creativity competitions
  • Workshops and project weeks

Workshops and exploratory collaboration

  • Development of new joint degree programmes (MSc, PhD) or specialisation study tracks (BSc)
  • Joint educational grant proposals
  • Expansion of interdisciplinary collaborations and networks
  • Collaboration with external stakeholders

Additional formats

  • Structured student internships and job‑shadowing
  • Co‑creation of learning materials or interactive tools

Target groups

BSc, MSc, PhD, and lifelong learners - with strong encouragement for projects involving bachelor‑level students.

 

Who can apply?

Academic or professional staff working in neurotechnology‑related disciplines at NeurotechEU beneficiaries and collaborators* may apply. Early‑career educators are particularly encouraged.

  • Université de Lille

*The University of Debrecen may participate using its own funding.

 

Timeline

  • 16 March 2026 – Call opens
  • 30 April 2026 – Application deadline
  • 15 May 2026 – Results announced (implementation phase begins*)
  • 16 July 2027 – End Evaluation Report due ** (implementation phase ends)

 

*All live or online activities must take place during the implementation phase. Recorded activities must be published on Campus+.

**An End Evaluation Report has to be provided per activity. Instructions and templates will be send via e mail.
