KI holds the position in the Times Higher Education ranking

When the Times Higher Education (THE) in Great Britain publishes its annual university ranking, KI is ranked 50th among 1,904 institutions in the world and ranked 16th in Europe.

The annual THE ranking, Times Higher Education, lists higher education and research institutions from 1,904 universities in 108 countries.

In this year's ranking, KI has place 50 in the world compared to place 49 last year. In Europe, KI has place 16.

According to the latest ranking by subject area, Karolinska Institutet is in 19th place in the world and 6th in Europe in the field of "Clinical and Health", in 31st place in the world and 9th in Europe in the field of "Life Sciences", and 35th in the world and 9th in Europe in the area of "Psychology".

THE's ranking is based on 18 indicators that measure an institution's performance in five areas. Among them teaching, research environment and research quality.
