Katharina Fink appointed as docent in neurology

The Docent Committee decided on the 28th of April 2026, to appoint Katharina Fink as docent in neurology.

Katharina Fink is a research group leader at the Department of Clinical Neuroscience, the Division of Neuro, and holds a PhD from Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin in Germany. She is a senior consultant in neurology at Karolinska University Hospital and the registry manager for the Swedish Neuroregistry.

Her research focuses on women’s neurology, a field aimed at understanding women’s unique neurological needs throughout their lives. She studies how gender influences the presentation, diagnosis, progression and outcome of neurological diseases, and investigates factors affecting pregnancy and neonatal outcomes in neuroinflammatory conditions, as well as the effect of immunomodulatory treatments. Her research has been funded by grants from, among others, the Swedish Research Council, CIMED, ALF, the MS Research Fund and Neuro.
