Jonas F. Ludvigsson awarded the 2025 Solstickepriset for groundbreaking research about child health

Professor Jonas F Ludvigsson at the Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Karolinska Institutet, and Örebro University Hospital has been awarded the Solstickepriset 2025.
Professor Jonas F. Ludvigsson is awarded the prize for his outstanding contributions to pediatric research, particularly in the field of gastrointestinal diseases. The prize consists of SEK 250,000.
"Ludvigsson is a shining example of how solid research, rooted in everyday clinical practice, can make a real difference. His courage to stand up for scientific facts, even when they challenge established truths, makes him a worthy recipient of the Solstickepriset," comments the Vice Chairman Professor Göran Elinder in a press release from The Solstickan Foundation.
"It is a special honour to receive this award – not least considering the history of “solstickan” and its strong connection to the best interests of children. Doing research that can lead to improved health for children has always been and remains my biggest driving force.", says professor Ludvigsson.
The award ceremony will take place at Stockholm’s open-air museum Skansen on 12 May.
