The start of the Autumn term is an ideal opportunity to ensure that you are following KI's graphic profile in emails, documents and presentations. As an employee, you contribute to consistency and recognition by following guidelines and using the templates provided. Find out more about what you need to consider.

Consistent use of KI's logo, typeface, colours and images strengthens KI's brand and contributes to recognition and clarity.

Use KI's typeface and templates in all internal and external contexts where you represent KI, whether in internal documents, emails, reports or brochures.

Start with this

  • Review your settings in Outlook, for fonts in emails and your email signature. Read more below.
  • Are you working on a presentation that you are about to share with a colleague? Make sure you have the right typeface set!
  • Or are you about to start a draft document? Open the KI template directly in Word to get the right settings.

Typeface

KI's typeface DM Sans is used in both digital and analogue channels: for headings, introductions, body text and buttons. The exception is email, where we use Arial.

DM Sans is a licence-free typeface.

Arial and Times New Roman are used if DM Sans does not work for technical reasons, or in contexts where KI communicates with others, such as Karolinska University Hospital or Region Stockholm.

Email signature

When using your KI email, the text in emails and email signatures should comply with the following:

  • Black text
  • Arial font
  • Size 11 points
  • Name in bold

Templates in Office

If you are part of coordinated IT and have the latest version of Microsoft Office (Microsoft365), you will find KI's templates for reports, presentations, scientific posters and other documents directly in PowerPoint and Word.

There are also templates with two logos, ex. KI and Karolinska University Hospital.

  • KI's Office templates includes necessary accessibility requirements, which affects the design of both headers and footers as well as row length and colour.

Select the templates

Select KI templates in PowerPoint and Word.

If your department is not a part of coordinated IT, you can download the templates through SharePoint.
