Do you ever find it difficult to address conflicts or communicate effectively in the lab?
Strengthening communication and navigating conflict effectively are essential skills for creating a collaborative and productive research environment.

About the Event

The participants will learn to identify severe vs non-severe conflicts, learn about ego states and how these impact conversations in the lab, build self-awareness through identification of personal conflict management style. This workshop is designed to be a capacity building training session that includes individual and group exercises.

About the Trainer

Francisco Valente Gonçalves
Francisco has a Ph.D. in Criminology and Psychology which he obtained from the University of Leicester while he was a Marie Curie Research Fellow from 2014-2017. Previously, he completed a master's degree in Portugal (ISPA-IU) in the area of psychocriminology, and his degree in psychological sciences was carried out between Portugal (ISPA-IU) and Spain (Universitat de Valencia). Throughout his work, Francisco has worked in different contexts, such as public institutes, hospitals, prisons, multinational consulting firms and in scientific research. His academic work has been recognized on different occasions (Top 3 European Young Researcher Award; MCAA Social Impact Award; MSCA Bridging Career Paths Award). He is currently R&D Director at RUMO Solutions. Since 2012, he has been an Effective Member of the Order of Portuguese Psychologists, and was recognized as an Advanced Specialist in Clinical Psychology by this regulator in 2019.
