Lectures and seminars StratNeuro Seminar with Nicholas Bray
Welcome to the StratNeuro Seminar with Professor Nicholas Bray from Cardiff University. The seminar will take place on Tuesday, May 12th, at 11.00 AM in D1012 (Biomedicum, Campus Solna).

"Gene Regulation in the Prenatal Human Brain and Genetic Risk for Schizophrenia"
Nicholas Bray (Professor and Divisional Lead for Postgraduate Research, Division of Psychological Medicine and Clinical Neurosciences)
Bio:
Nicholas obtained his PhD in 2002 (investigating genes involved in brain development as candidates for schizophrenia susceptibility), under the supervision of Mike Owen at Cardiff University. His post-doctoral research, undertaken in Cardiff with Mick O’Donovan, focused on gene expression as a potential mediator of genetic risk for psychiatric disorders. Between 2006 and 2015, he led a research group at the Institute of Psychiatry, King's College London, further investigating cis-regulatory variation in the human brain and functionally characterising genes implicated in schizophrenia susceptibility. He returned to Cardiff University in 2015, where he is now a Professor and has a particular interest in applying single nuclei sequencing methods to human brain tissue to elucidate cellular risk mechanisms for psychiatric disorders.
