Trevor Tippetts is a Ruth L. Kirschstein NRSA Postdoctoral Fellow in the DeBerardinis Lab at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where he investigates how mitochondrial and lipid metabolism shape tissue function, development, and disease. His work has helped define how sphingolipids/ceramides regulate insulin sensitivity, organ-specific metabolic health, and disease risk. More recently, his interests have expanded to developmental metabolism, focusing on how mitochondrial cofactor availability and pathways such as lipoylation control bioenergetic maturation and cardiac development.
