Swedish MND Quality Registry and ALSrisc Study

Abstract 

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a relatively rare but devastating neurodegenerative disease. While our understanding of ALS has advanced significantly during the past decades, research remains crucial to uncovering the causes for most patients, developing treatments that can slow or halt disease progression, and ultimately finding a cure. In this talk, Fang will discuss her ongoing research efforts on ALS, focusing on recent advancements and future directions.

About the speaker 

Fang Fang is Professor in Epidemiology at the Institute of Environmental Medicine, with research interests in neurodegenerative diseases (especially amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) and psychiatric disorders (especially comorbidity between psychiatric disorders and common somatic diseases such as cancer and cardiometabolic disorders).
