Welcome to a webinar for those working in research, education, or professional support services at Swedish higher education institutions who wish to deepen their knowledge of security-related issues.
Thom Thavenius, Deputy Chief Security Officer at Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) , will provide an overview of protective security in general and, more specifically, discuss the challenges posed by the Swedish "teacher exemption" principle from a protective security perspective. He will also address the requirements of the Swedish Protective Security Act, as well as the implications for free international research and intellectual property rights.
Anna-Sara Lind, Professor of Public Law at Uppsala University, will offer reflections on Thom's presentation in light of the inquiry she has recently completed on strengthening the protection of academic freedom in her role as Special Investigator.
