Welcome to the tenth edition of Cancer Research KI’s workshop for patients and patient organizations, in collaboration with RCC Stockholm-Gotland. The upcoming webinar will be held online and will focus on clinical trials and how they can contribute to new cancer treatments.

Clinical trials play a crucial role in developing the cancer treatments of tomorrow. In the webinar, you will learn more about how clinical trials are conducted, their importance for research and care, and the opportunities available for patients to take part.

Confirmed speakers are Johanna Vernersson, Head of the Cancer Trials Unit at Karolinska University Hospital, who will give an introduction to clinical trials and how patients may become eligible to participate; Eva Fredriksson, Development Manager at the Regional Cancer Centre (RCC) Stockholm-Gotland, who will talk about register-based randomized clinical trials (R-RCTs); Hanna Eriksson, oncologist at Karolinska University Hospital, who will share experiences from clinical trials in melanoma; and Maximilian Kordes, oncologist at Karolinska University Hospital, who will present research and clinical studies in pancreatic cancer, with a particular focus on early phase I studies.

After the presentations, participants will have the opportunity to ask questions directly to the experts and take part in an open discussion.

Note: this workshop will be conducted in Swedish.
