Email and telephone referrals

Remember to set up an auto-reply for your email so you can relax when you are on vacation. Depending on your role, you may want to refer to colleagues on duty or a shared mailbox.

You can also refer your phone calls when you are out-of-office. If you have a fixed telephone connection (MEX), you can listen to voicemails, refer, and mute incoming calls in the Telia Touchpoint Plus app.

Boost your visibility using your profile page on ki.se

To ensure your profile page reaches the right audience and makes a strong, credible impression, it is essential to keep it accurate and up to date. Well-maintained content helps search engines and AI tools understand your expertise and present your profile in the right context. It also signals reliability to those who matter most—colleagues, students, collaborators, funders and the media—making it easier for them to find and trust your work.

Take a few minutes to review and update your profile so it reflects who you are and what you do right now.

Reaching a wider audience with your research

There are several ways to share your research beyond academia, and you do not always need a press release to get started. Taking an active role in communicating your research can help more people discover and understand your work.

Start by thinking about who you want to reach and why. This will guide both your message and your choice of channel.

Social media

Use your own social media accounts. Posts from personal accounts generally achieve wider reach and greater engagement than those from organisational accounts. This trend is especially noticeable on LinkedIn.

Pitch your research to journalists

As an employee of the university, you are of course free to contact journalists directly to talk about your research or other aspects of your work. A simple phone call or email is often enough to share news about ongoing projects or recent findings.

Pitch your research to KI's popular science channels

You are always welcome to reach out directly to the editors of the KI's popular science channels:

These channels primarily target a medically interested general public, but they also reach KI staff, alumni and journalists.

Share news via NEURO's website or KI channels

You can contact Lotte Brandt to explore the possibility of publishing the news on NEURO's and KI’s news sites.
