Academic Vice Presidents in the Faculty Board's Committees appointed
On October 4, the president of Karolinska Institutet appointed academic vice presidents and deputy chairpersons for the three committees that report to the Faculty Board: The Committee for Higher Education, the Committee for Doctoral Education and the Committee for Research. The appointees’ term of office runs from 1 January, 2023, to 31 December, 2025.
The appointments come as the mandates of the current academic vice presidents and deputy chairpersons expire on 31 December 2022, and follow an advisory election held earlier this year.
The Committee for Higher Education
Professor Ewa Ehrenborg is appointed Academic Vice President for Education as well as Chairperson of the Committee for Higher Education. She will replace Annika Östman Wernerson, who has been proposed by the university board as the next president of KI.
Professor Rune Brautaset is appointed Deputy Chairperson of the Committee for Higher Education.
To keep the gender balance in the top posts of the committee, KI President Ole Petter Ottersen decided to appoint Rune Brautaset instead of Professor Maria Hagströmer, thus deviating from the advisory election results.
The Committee for Doctoral Education
Professor Robert Harris is re-appointed as Academic Vice President for Doctoral Education as well as Chairperson of the Committee for Doctoral Education.
Professor Erika Franzén is re-appointed as Deputy Chairperson of the Committee for Doctoral Education.
The Committee for Research
Professor Martin Bergö is re-appointed Academic Vice President for Research as well as Chairperson of the Committee for Research.
Professor Marie Arsenian-Henriksson is appointed Deputy Chairperson of the Committee for Research. She will replace Catarina Almqvist Malmros.
