25,6 million SEK in grants to MBB researchers from Swedish Cancer Society

We congratulate the seven researchers at the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics, who have been awarded grants from the Swedish Cancer Society (Cancerfonden) for the period 2026-2028. Together, the MBB researchers are awarded grants of over 25 million SEK.

Björn Högberg  – Autonomous molecular switches for anti-cancer treatment, 3 000 000 kr 

Lars  Jakobsson  – Mechanisms of oncogenic transformation of vascular malformation into angiosarcoma, 3 000 000 kr

Sten Linnarsson – A hidden seed stage in human glioblastoma, 4 500 000 kr

Per Uhlén – Decoding Mechanisms of Immunotherapy Resistance by Mapping the Tumor Microenvironment with 3D Imaging, 6 000 000 kr 

Anna Wredenberg – How Mitochondrial SAM Shapes Liver Zonation, Differentiation, and Cancer Metabolism, 
4 500 000 kr 

Roman Zubarev – Targeting ORphan Cancer Cell Death Pathways by Chemical Proteomics (TORP-CP), 1 600 000 kr
