World Suicide Prevention Day – September 10

Today marks World Suicide Prevention Day, an annual event since 2003 aimed at raising awareness about suicide and promoting prevention efforts. Initiated by the WHO and the International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP), the day encourages global dialogue and action to reduce stigma and support mental health.
In Stockholm, a public panel discussion arranged by Suicide Zero will be held at St. Paul’s Church, 18.00-18.45, featuring Gergö Hadlaczky, associate professor of psychology and adjunct lecturer at the National Center for
Suicide Research and Prevention (NASP) at the Department of Learning, Informatics, Management and Ethics (LIME). The event is part of Suicide Zero’s candlelight vigil at Mariatorget, honoring those lost to suicide and supporting their loved ones. Free admission – no registration required.
Additionally, this autumn, NASP is co-organising this year's National Suicide Prevention Conference in Karlstad on October 22–23, under the theme “Change the Narrative” – which is also he theme for this year's World Suicide Prevention Day. The conference aims to foster collaboration and share strategies for effective suicide prevention.
