Two new professors at MMK were inaugurated
At Karolinska Institutet's Inauguration Ceremony in Aula Medica on October 13th, 2022, KI's new professors were presented and academic prizes were awarded. The Department of Molecular Medicine and Surgery was represented at the celebration by two new professors and one academic award.

Jovan Antović
Professor of Clinical Chemistry and Coagulation at the Department of Molecular Medicine and Surgery.
Jovan Antović researches blood clotting and haemophilia, especially in relation to elderly health. Thanks to modern treatments, people with haemophilia live a normal life. Rimma Axelsson
Professor of Nuclear Medicine at the Department of Molecular Medicine and Surgery.
The range of cancer therapies is growing quickly, but it is often hard to know in advance which drug will help a particular patient. Dimitris N. Chorafas Prize 2022
Eivind Gottlieb at the research group Upper GI Surgery was awarded the Dimitris N. Chorafas Prize for his thesis "Improved surgical treatment of oesophageal cancer", prize motivation.
