Tomas Olsson awarded the Swedish Society of Medicine’s Jubilee Prize 2026
Professor Tomas Olsson is awarded the Swedish Society of Medicine’s Jubilee Prize 2026 for his internationally leading research into multiple sclerosis (MS). His research has contributed entirely new knowledge about the origins of the disease and opened up new opportunities to treat and prevent MS.
“Receiving this award is a great honour and I am deeply grateful. The award confirms that my research has been meaningful and appreciated by colleagues at the Swedish Society of Medicine, and hopefully has also made a difference for people with diseases of the nervous system,” says Tomas Olsson, professor of neurology at the Department of Clinical Neuroscience, Karolinska Institutet, in a press release from the Swedish Society of Medicine.
The award will be presented during the Swedish Society of Medicine’s annual ceremony on 20 October 2026. The recipient will receive SEK 175,000 and the SLS centenary silver medal.
