The Swedish Research Council awards 102 grants in medicine and health to KI

The Swedish Research Council has decided on a number of calls for proposals in medicine and health for 2025. A total of just over SEK 1.2 billion will be awarded for the years 2025–2031. KI will receive just over SEK 527 million for 102 grants.

This year, the number of applications in medicine and health has increased significantly compared to last year for all types of grants, according to a press release from the Swedish Research Council. 

In the Swedish Research Council's (VR) call for grants in medicine and health, just over SEK 1.2 billion has been granted for the next six years. KI has been awarded 102 of 185 grants, corresponding to just over SEK 527 million for the period 2025-2031.

The decision includes the following grants:

VR has increased the number of grants slightly this year, but the approval rate is lower than last year. Last year it was 19 per cent, while this year it’s 17 per cent.
