Email from Microsoft Security on guest access to Teams
If you have invited external parties to collaborate in teams, you will shortly receive an email asking you to review these access permissions.

This review of guest access is a security routine that will take place annually, as it can be easy for users to forget which guests have been assigned access to specific collaboration areas and the information available there.
During a period of two weeks, you will receive email reminders to carry out a access review of these, if you who have external guests in your team group. Microsoft Security will be the sender of these emails.
If you do not make any active choices, all access permissions will remain and you will be reminded again in a year's time - so the encouragement is to really check the permissions that are assigned and remove those that are no longer relevant.
Follow these simple steps
- Follow the "Start review" link in the email from Microsoft.
- Go through the list on the page that opens. You can select one or more users at a time, and in the top bar select "Approve" or "Deny". The recommendation from Microsoft does not need to be followed.
- Note that these emails are sent to all owners of a team - but only one owner needs to complete the review.
