Novo Nordisk Foundation grants to researchers at BioNut

Three researchers at the Department of Biosciences and Nutriton, Karolinska Institutet, have received grants from the Novo Nordisk Foundation for their research in endocrinology.

We wish to congratulate our researchers at the Department of Biosciences and Nutrition who have received grants from the Novo Nordisk Foundation 2021.

  • Federico Pietrocola received DKK 1 000 000 for a project on: "Targeting polyamines metabolism to correct the detrimental effects of senescent cells"
  • Christian Riedel received DKK 990 000 for a project on: "A new mechanism by which mitochondria modulate the outcomes of reduced insulin/IGF-like signaling and slow down the aging process"
  • Eckardt Treuter received DKK 1 000 000 for a project on: "Role of transcriptional corepressors in epigenetic mechanisms underlying atherosclerosis and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease"
