New research from Karolinska Institutet shows that long-term sex hormone treatment in transgender individuals can lead to significant changes in body composition and risk factors for cardiovascular disease, particularly in transgender men. The study is published in the Journal of Internal Medicine.

In a Swedish systematic review published in Acta Paediatrica, researchers from Karolinska Institutet, University of Gothenburg, Umeå University, and the Swedish agency for health technology assessment and assessment of social services, mapped the current knowledge of hormonal treatment in youths <18 years with gender dysphoria.

If we think of a course that impacted our life, a class that truly changed our view of health connected with Human Rights, that class has been the Anne Firth Murray’s MOOC International Women’s Health and Human Rights. Now we took the course to run a seminar series for doctoral, medical and undergraduate students at Karolinska Institutet, all with a local Swedish focus.
