How do we make decisions – and why do we sometimes fail?

The University of Bonn and Radboud University are pleased to invite applications for the Joint Autumn School on Decision-Making, organised within the NeurotechEU alliance.

This one-week, in-person programme brings together students and researchers from across the NeurotechEU alliance to explore how decisions are shaped – from cognitive models and neural mechanisms to clinical conditions and ethical challenges.

What to expect?

Throughout the week, participants will engage with leading researchers and explore key questions such as:

  • How can decisions be modelled and formally described?
  • How do neural systems shape choice behaviour?
  • How is decision-making altered in clinical conditions?
  • What ethical challenges arise in decision-making?

The programme combines state-of-the-art research insights with interactive elements, providing space for discussion, exchange, and interdisciplinary learning.

Speakers from the following partners have been confirmed:

  • Radboud University: Prof Roshan Cools, Dr Bernd Figner, Prof Alan Sanfey, Dr Eliana Vassena, Tim Vriens
  • University of Bonn: Prof Dominik Bach, Prof Bert Heinrichs, Prof Nils Kroemer, PD Dr Johannes Schultz
