KI receives 60 million SEK from the Swedish Childhood Cancer Fund

The Swedish Childhood Cancer Fund has decided to grant SEK 150 million in grants to Swedish childhood cancer research, of which SEK 60 million to a total of 32 researchers at Karolinska Institutet.

The funds go to researchers who can create power and continuity in research on childhood cancer. Emma Tham at the Department of Molecular Medicine and Surgery is granted SEK 3,000,000 for three years of research on testing cell-free tumor DNA (fluid biopsy) for improved diagnosis and follow-up of children with cancer.
