Four KI researchers among the “Future research leaders“ – receives 12 million each
The Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research, SSF, appointed the seventh generation of "Future research leader", four researchers from Karolinska Institutet. The grant supports young, promising researchers and enable them to build their own successful research groups.
Every three years, SSF announces the program grant “Future research leader”. The program includes a leadership training program that in the long term will provide the contributor with the prerequisites to lead larger research groups with international impact.
Those who have been appointed at KI are:
- Simon Elsässer at the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics with the project "Exploring functional diversity in the small proteome"
- Ana Munoz Manchado at the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics with the project "Striatal gene regulatory networks in Parkinson’s disease"
- Georgios Sotiriou at the Department of Microbiology, Tumor and Cell Biology with the project "Nanostructured antimicrobial coatings on medical devices"
- Kristiina Tammimies at Department of Women's and Children's Health with the project "Risks to predictive scores in neurodevelopmental disorders"
