Five researchers at NVS receive project grants from CIMED for 2026-2028

In this year's call for CIMED project grants, a total of 175 applications were received, of which 78 were junior and 97 were senior applications. Of these, two junior and three senior grants were awarded to researchers at NVS.

Junior

Christina Sandlund, lecturer and assistant professor at the Division of Family Medicine and Primary Care, has received project grants for ”Sleep restriction group therapy for insomnia in primary health care: a randomized controlled trial and a process evaluation”.

Urban Ekman, docent at the Division of Clinical Geriatrics, has received project grants for  ”Improved predictions of sub-groups trajectories of early-stage cognitive impairments in large-scale naturalistic settings”.

Senior

Erika Franzén, professor at the Division of Physiotherapy, has received project grants for  ”Motor-cognitive performance in neurological disorders – establishing exercise effects and exploring brain activation”.

Miia Kivipelto, professor at the Division of Clinical Geriatrics, has received project grants for  ”Personalized multidomain preventive interventions for Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias: FINGER 2.0 and MET-FINGER combination trial platform​​​​​​​”.

Sara Garcia-Ptacek, assistant professor and docent at the Division of Clinical Geriatrics, has received project grants for ”Medication repurposing in dementia: selecting brain-friendly medications and establishing a new indication”.
