Festive celebration of global master's students at this year's scholarship ceremony

On 25 November, the eleven master's students who were awarded KI scholarships for the global master's programmes were celebrated at a ceremony in Aula Medica. KI's president Annika Östman Wernerson gave a speech, and the programme managers also took part in the ceremony.
This year's scholarship recipients come from seven countries outside the EU and have been admitted to KI's master's programmes, which started in the autumn semester of 2025. The scholarship covers the tuition fees for the programmes.
One of this year's scholarship recipients was Lan Zhang, who is studying the Master's Programme in Toxicology and has dreamed of studying at KI since she was a child.
"The evening was fantastic, with interesting conversations and important insights, together with other scholarship recipients and representatives from KI," says Lan Zhang.
"I already knew about KI as a child, when I read a children's book about the Nobel Prize. Even then, I dreamed of studying here, and when my interest in biological research and toxicology grew, the pieces fell into place."
An impressive journey
The ceremony started with a film presenting the scholarship recipients, their previous studies at their home universities, and the impressive journey that led to their master's studies.
KI's president Annika Östman Wernerson gave a speech to the scholarship recipients, praising their achievements and commitment, with the message that we are stronger together, that curiosity should be kept alive and that one should never stop learning. The evening ended with dinner and a toast to the scholarship recipients.
