Get started lifting barbells!
Learn the basics of strength training
This is more than just a workshop – it's the start of your lifting journey. In Get Started Lifting, you'll not only learn the basic barbell exercises – deadlifts, squats, barbell rows and presses – but also gain the confidence to step into the gym and train on your own.
We'll go through each lift step by step, show you how to structure your training, and give you the tools to build lasting strength. Along the way, you'll learn three important principles that will shape your training:
- Functionality – movements that are useful in everyday life and make you stronger both in and outside the gym.
- Progressive overload – the method that ensures you continue to develop and become stronger over time.
- Reps in Reserve (RIR) – your smart guide to training hard enough to make progress, but not so hard that you burn yourself out.
Come as you are – and leave with the knowledge, strength and confidence to move forward.
