Lectures and seminars Scientist shows art: Louise Frisén

Louise Frisén, associate professor at the Department of Clinical Neuroscience and senior physician at the clinic for gender incongruence and gender dysphoria, BUP Stockholm, participates in The Cell's programme series Scientist shows art.
During the event, Louise Frisén will reflect on Elisabeth Ohlson's photograph of Caravaggio's classic motif The Doubter. Elisabeth Ohlson focuses on the body and experience of a transgender person. The work is a powerful image of vulnerability, courage and a call to question society's perceptions of gender, identity and human dignity. Elisabeth Ohlson's photograph of Caravaggio's classic motif The Doubter is one of several works in the exhibition You, part of the series Me, You, We – Exploring Human Behaviour.
Louise Frisén will discuss what we do not yet know and what research has already shown about puberty blockers. The conversation will touch on how the treatment can affect young people's development, the link to autism spectrum disorders, and the importance of thorough investigation and treatment within a multidisciplinary team.
Take the opportunity to participate in a programme where art and scientific research provide new insights into how we are shaping the world of the future together. The event is free and open to the public, no registration required.
