The Kerstin Brismar Award 2025 is awarded to Professor Johnny Ludvigsson at Linköping University.

Johnny Ludvigsson is a globally recognized researcher whose lifelong dedication to pediatric diabetes has profoundly shaped the field. His work has primarily focused on type 1 diabetes, with a strong emphasis on understanding its early development and preventing the disease. Through a translational research approach, he has successfully bridged laboratory discoveries and clinical application, building his program on experimental and epidemiological studies as well as clinical observations.

The Kerstin Brismar Award is a newly established research grant in the field of diabetes. The grant will be awarded annually to a particularly valuable research project in translational research. In addition to the recognition itself, the award includes a grant of SEK 500,000.
