Dr Ekaterina Sadikova from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
About the speaker and and the seminar
Ekaterina Sadikova, PhD is a psychiatric epidemiologist from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She studies sleep-related vulnerabilities to psychiatric ill-health in young people through a causal inference lens. Her current focus is on the role of melatonin in developmental and psychiatric outcomes. In her recent work, Dr. Sadikova looked at melatonin use patterns and effects of melatonin on pubertal timing using a longitudinal cohort from the United States. In addition to these recent findings, she will present plans for future work in collaboration with Karolinska Institutet colleagues to (a) describe sleep and psychiatric comorbidity profiles predictive of melatonin use initiation and (b) interrogate the chronobiotic effects of melatonin on bipolar disorder disease course.
