Other How can we strengthen Sweden’s medical preparedness in times of crisis and war?

Karolinska Institutet is hosting a discussion on how Sweden can strengthen its medical preparedness in a changing security landscape during the Almedalen Week in Visby, on 23 June.
No registration is required. The event is in Swedish.
We look forward to seeing you at this seminar on a pressing topic – see you in Almedalen!
What can a medical university contribute to Total Defence? How can collaboration between research, healthcare, public authorities and other societal actors strengthen Sweden’s ability to prevent and manage serious crises?
As geopolitical tensions rise and the focus on total defence grows, new demands are being placed on Sweden’s medical preparedness. What skills and resources are required, and how can knowledge be put into practice more quickly? What role should medical knowledge environments play in a strengthened total defence?
The discussion is based on Karolinska Institutet’s strategic focus on medical preparedness, where research, education, innovation and cross-sectoral collaboration converge. It brings together expertise in areas such as health crises, disaster medicine, defence-related medicine and research into human performance and resilience in extreme environments.
The aim of the discussion is to open up new perspectives and collaborations on one of the most pressing issues of our time: Sweden’s preparedness.
