Title

From modelling archeological data to convenient sampling

Abstract 

As I lead an Interdisciplinary statistical research group at Vilnius University, I will provide an overview of interdisciplinary research and studies. As case studies, I will present our joint collaboration with the Center for Bioarchaeology and Paleogenetics regarding the modeling of data from the inhabitants of Vilnius from the XIII-XVIII centuries. I also present my recent project about non-probability samples in statistical surveys.

About the speaker

Audronė Jakaitienė is a Professor and Chief Researcher at Vilnius University. From 2023, she has led the Interdisciplinary Statistical Research Group at Vilnius University. Previously, she held the position of Senior Economist at the Bank of Lithuania. She has also worked as a Senior Expert (Economist) for the European Central Bank. Dr Jakaitienė is President of the Lithuanian Statistical Society; Lithuania’s representative at the International Biometric Society. Since 2019, she has been a member of the European Statistical Advisory Committee (ESAC). She conducts applied research in biostatistics, educometrics, and econometrics.

Faculty lunch

Join the faculty event in Wargentin! After the seminar, the faculty lunch will be served in Ljusgården.
