Past and Future of Nordic Registry-based research: the man who introduced confounding, War epidemiology, and why you should get yourself an Apple Watch”

Later this week Nordic pharmacoepidemiolngists are meeting in Uppsala. Jonas L has been asked to give an overview talk about the past and future of Nordic Registers and research at that meeting. He has offered to give this talk also at MEB since today’s speaker Pasternak fell sick.  Jonas L will give a short overview of Nordic Registers, then discuss some legends in the history of Nordic epidemiology (including a photograph you do not want to miss of old MEB in Uppsala), he will then go on to talk about the emulated target trial, DAGs, transparency, R shiny app, and how future Epi will be shaped by the GDPR, the climate, political decisions and war. He’ll mention Big data, and Granular data, and why we should reach out to physicians and patients in our research.

Join the faculty event in Wargentin! After the seminar, the faculty lunch will be served in Ljusgården. The faculty lunches are intended for employees at MEB, and a monthly net salary deduction of 260 SEK will be made for those who work here 20% or more.
