Real-World Treatment Patterns in Microscopic Colitis: A Nationwide Study from Sweden
Abstract 1
Microscopic colitis (MC) is commonly treated with budesonide upon occurrence of symptoms, yet disease activity and real-world treatment escalation to more advanced treatments remain poorly characterized at a population level. Existing activity indices are symptom-based and not feasible to incorporate into large-scale registry-based research, hence limiting the understanding of disease course and therapeutic needs. In this study, we aimed to develop a prescription-based definition of MC disease activity and describe nationwide treatment patterns of MC in Sweden.
