Investigating the effects of drugs in real-world populations
About the speaker
Björn Pasternak is Professor of Pharmacoepidemiology and serves as the Director of the Centre for Pharmacoepidemiology at Karolinska Institutet. He obtained his medical education and PhD at Linköping University in Sweden, after which he spent six years at Statens Serum Institut in Denmark as postdoc and researcher. The overall objective of his research is to use high-quality databases and methods to help inform evidence-based decisions in clinical practice. His team has ongoing research programs in safety and effectiveness of newer diabetes drugs, heart failure treatments, and pediatric drug safety, while the centre at large covers multiple additional areas including e.g. psychiatric pharmacoepidemiology, pregnancy drug safety, and effects of novel drugs in dermatology.

Join the faculty event in Wargentin! After the seminar, the faculty lunch will be served in Ljusgården. The faculty lunches are intended for employees at MEB, and a monthly net salary deduction of 260 SEK will be made for those who work here 20% or more.
