Lectures and seminars CBB seminar: Associations Between Pain Burden And The Gut Microbiome
The Center for Bioinformatics and Biostatistics (CBB) presents a biostatistics seminar.
Title: Associations Between Pain Burden And The Gut Microbiome
Speaker: Tessa Schillemans, postdoctoral student, Department of Neurobiology, Care Sciences and Society, KI Huddinge
Tessa’s research focuses on chronic pain, its associations with diseases such as cardiovascular disease and dementia, and the molecular mechanisms underlying these relationships. In this seminar, she will present her current research on the relationship between pain burden and the gut microbiome in a Swedish cohort. Using complementary statistical and machine learning approaches, the study investigates whether self-reported pain burden is associated with differences in gut microbiome composition, diversity, and function.
Before the seminar, a limited number of sandwiches and drinks will be served on a “First come – first served” basis starting 12:00. Show up early and network!
