Welcome to a seminar about stress and burnout in the workplace, with Vladimir Carli, senior lecturer and senior physician at the Department of Learning, Informatics, Management and Ethics (LIME). The seminar will be held in English. No registration required.

The pandemic, war, and changes in society have in recent years brought about changes in our operations and also entailed increased risks when it comes to our mental health.

Many employees have had a high workload for a long time and some have been faced with extraordinarily difficult situations. Mental health, stress and burnout, are now topics that are highly relevant.

During the seminar you will see epidemiological data about the magnitude of the problem, get a description of the symptoms and causes, learn more about protective and risk factors as well as the main theoretical models explaining the mechanisms behind work-related stress. The influence of external stressors such as societal crises, bullying and substance use will also be discussed. Moreover, tips and advice about how to self-manage stress at the workplace will be provided, as well as information about warning signs regarding mental health problems that require professional help.
