Apply for support for a long-term research stay in South Africa

Apply for SASUF+ mobility funding for a long-term research stay at a South African partner university. Open to eligible KI doctoral students and early career researchers.

Through the South Africa–Sweden University Forum (SASUF+), PhD students and early career researchers can now apply for mobility funding for long-term stays at SASUF partner universities in South Africa.

PhD students and early career researchers at Karolinska Institutet can now apply for funding for a long-term research stay at a South African SASUF partner university. The stay must be at least five months in duration.

Eligible applicants must be admitted to doctoral education or have obtained their doctoral degree in 2022 or later. Applicants must be employed by the home university or admitted to doctoral education at their home university at the time of application and throughout the entire mobility period. 

The initiative aims to strengthen collaboration between Swedish and South African universities through increased research mobility and the development of new academic networks.
