Xinxin Luo receives the Dimitris N. Chorafas Prize 2025

Xinxin Luo, postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Medicine, Solna, has been awarded the Dimitris N. Chorafas Prize 2025. The prize of USD 10.000 is intended for recent PhD graduates or doctoral students in their final year of doctoral studies. The aim is to encourage young, promising researchers. Xinxin Luo is recognised for her research on how inflammation, tissue damage and healing processes interact in the intestine.

Xinxin Luo, postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Medicine, Solna, is awarded the prize for his thesis The role of Liver X Receptor (LXR) in intestinal inflammation and mucosal healing.

Xinxin Luo's research focuses on understanding how inflammation, tissue damage and healing processes interact in the intestine, with a particular focus on the role of the liver X receptor (LXR) in intestinal recovery and immune regulation.

"First of all I am really happy to hear that I was awarded! It's deeply validating to know that the enthusiasm and dedication I poured into this project have been recognized, and it reinforces my initial aspiration to contribute meaningfully to the scientific community. To be eligible for nomination for the Dimitris N. Chorafas Prize, candidates must not have reached the age of 32 at the time of nomination. The prize will be awarded in connection with the inauguration ceremony on 9 October 2025 in Aula Medica, Karolinska Institutet.
