VIS replacing Forskarwebben
On 20 January, Forskarwebben was shut down and replaced by VIS, the new system for financial project overviews, which automatically retrieves and compiles data from different source systems, saving time and simplifying report generation. We spoke to Hannes Asplund, finance manager at GPH about what it means for you as a researcher and the support available in the new system VIS.
What does the shutdown of Forskarwebben mean for researchers?
First of all, it means a new system to navigate. It may sound difficult, but the fact is that VIS (which replaces the Researcher Web) provides more information about projects than was previously displayed in the Researcher Web. Once researchers become familiar with the system, I think the benefits will be clear and the response good.
Is there anything special the researchers at GPH need to consider?
Only the researcher responsible for the projects and their manager will be able to see the projects in VIS. If the administrative support person in the group is to see the projects, an authorization form needs to be filled in and sent to Therese Lind.
Where can I get support for the new system?
For guidance on using VIS there's an informative guide on ki.se to get an economic overview of a research project. We recommend everyone working in VIS to attend an introduction session held several times during the spring, see below.
For questions about VIS, you can contact us in the Economics team. For technical support, reach out to IT support. For content-related inquiries, email vis@ki.se. Economic guidance is available at ekonomi.gph@ki.se.
