Ulrika Marking awarded Sven Gard´s scholarship 2026

Ulrika Marking at the Department of Clinical Sciences, Danderyd Hospital, at Karolinska Institutet, is awarded for her thesis: Teamwork makes the dream work: systemic and mucosal immunity in shaping protection against SARS-CoV-2. 

The motivation from the jury:
"For an outstanding thesis that, through elegant longitudinal studies, has elucidated the central role of mucosal immunity in protection against SARS-CoV-2 infection, thereby providing important insights for future vaccine development."

Teamwork makes the dream work: systemic and mucosal immunity in shaping protection against SARS-CoV-2. 

Sven Gard's scholarship is awarded annually for the best dissertation in virology. The scholarship takes place as a result of nomination. The scholarship includes a monetary award and a diploma.
