”Pioneering physiology and pharmacology to drive next generation discoveries and health care.” - This is FyFa's new vision that is now being launched, together with FyFa's mission. The entire department has been involved in the development.

”The vision is an overall goal for our activities at FyFa; it is an inspiration and, together with the mission, it is an instruction for how we should work, along with the watchwords creativity, innovation and community. In other words, the vision is both a challenge for us and something that we can actually achieve if we work together,” says Head of Department Sophie Erhardt.

A broad collaboration produced the vision

The process of developing the vision began with the PI day in May 2022 and continued during the half-day for the entire department in October the same year. Since then, the work has continued in various forums and constellations, such as in PI meetings, working groups and workshops, to finally end in the management group where a decision was taken in autumn 2024.

Integrating vision and mission into the organisation

In the spring of 2025, there will be an opportunity to work further on the integration and activation of vision and mission within the department.

“The vision can help us set strategic goals that can be broken down into practical objectives. In fact, in everything we do, we can check off against the vision. When you start a new project, when you hold a meeting, when you teach, etc., are you striving to support cutting-edge research and are you working in such a way that you can achieve our vision? concludes Sophie Erhardt.
