"I got help to identify the most suitable analyses and statistical methods"

Kalliopi Kazamia is a pediatric cardiologist specializing in fetal cardiology and a doctoral student at the Department of Women’s and Children’s Health at Karolinska Institutet. Hi Kalliopi! What did you seek support for from Clinicum’s advisors?

"I sought support for a large register-based epidemiological study that is part of my doctoral project. My questions concerned guidance on the analysis plan I had developed, advice on statistical analyses and coding, as well as possibilities for support with data management".

How did you experience the application process and the support you received from your Clinicum advisor?

"The application process was very smooth, and the mentor I was assigned provided me with the support I needed to take the next step in my project".

Did the advice from Clinicum lead you to do something differently in your project compared to what you had originally planned?

"Yes! When I applied, I had already written my own analysis plan. Still, through the advisory process, I was able to discuss my ideas, clarify the research questions, and determine which analyses and statistical methods would best answer them. This would not have been possible without the support of my advisor".

Do you have any tips for other researchers who are considering seeking support from Clinicum?

"I recommend seeking support early- already during the study design phase and before data extraction, especially in register-based studies".
